We are excited to offer a new summer series featuring 3 fun events across 3 weeks in July. Designed for moms and girls ages 8 and older, this series gives girls tools they can use to access their confidence, courage and wisdom to become self-assured, strong young women.
Each 90-minute session will feature an interactive Grace & Grit lesson — focused on that day’s historical heroine — delivered by G&G founder, Heather Stark. Girls then will make their way onto The Little Art Bus for a hands-on art project tied to the lesson. All of this while enjoying goodies from our host, Stir Crazy Baked Goods.

COURAGE with Harriet Tubman | Thursday, July 18, 1:00-2:30 p.m.</span>
Learn how this slave-turned-emancipator — relying only on sheer courage, the guidance of the North Star and the kindness of abolitionists belonging to The Underground Railroad — led 300 people to freedom. After the lesson, your girl will jump on The Little Art Bus and create her own handmade lantern to take home as a reminder of how courage shines light on life’s darkest moments.
WISDOM with Sacagawea | Thursday, July 25, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
When explorers Lewis and Clark forged a path to the Pacific Ocean, a wise 16-year-old Native American girl named Sacagawea would help to lead them. Not only did she become a symbol of peace on their journey but also a trusted healer who relied on her knowledge of the earth and its gifts to keep the group safe across thousands of miles. After the lesson, your girl will join the team on The Little Art Bus to make her own suede-and-bead “medicine” pouch.

CONFIDENCE with Rosie the Riveter | Thursday, July 11, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
When “the boys” left home to fight in WWII, who would build the war planes to support their efforts? The call was answered by hundreds of thousands of women across America who set aside their kitchen mitts and sewing machines for welding torches and riveting guns. This lesson focuses on confidence. The Little Art Bus will have supplies ready for your girl to create her own Rosie painting.
