ABOUT ABOUT

Four for Fun … and Learning!

The team at Grace & Grit is excited to offer a summer workshop series, featuring four lessons across four days. This event is designed for girls entering 4th through 6th grade. This series is a fun way to give girls the tools they can use to access their own courage, perseverance, selflessness and devotion.

Each two-hour session will feature a Grace & Grit lesson for the girls to read, followed by an interactive discussion on that day’s historical heroine by G&G founder, Heather Stark. A fun activity will conclude each session.

9:30-11:30 a.m. each day
$10 per day or $32 for the full series

Monday, June 3 – COURAGE with Harriet Tubman: Learn how this slave-turned-emancipator — relying only on sheer courage, the guidance of the North Star and the kindness of abolitionists belonging to The Underground Railroad — led 300 people to freedom.

Tuesday, June 4 – PERSEVERANCE with Wilma Rudolph: When she was 4, doctors told Wilma’s mother that this little girl wouldn’t walk again. But Wilma’s perseverance carried her all the way to Olympic gold as one of America’s greatest track-and-field stars.

Wednesday, June 5 – SELFLESSNESS with Audrey Hepburn: She was the picture of glamor, beauty and elegance — but this Hollywood superstar never forgot her humble wartime beginnings and worked selflessly to improve the lives of third-world children.

Thursday, June 6 – DEVOTION with Anne Sullivan: After arriving at the Kellers’ Alabama home to teach their blind and deaf daughter, this young first-time teacher soon learned that her devotion would be the key to giving Helen Keller a voice in the world.
